Big Wheel

Made of white oak and birch, this clock is simply beautiful, and it runs like “clockwork”.

This clock is big. I mean really big.It hangs relatively low on the wall, so I added small pulleys to the frame in order to utilize a 3-part line for the weights. This lets it run for 30 hours with the “short” drop.

The hands are modeled after a Russian pocket watch I have. the Big Wheel

It’s the machinery that I love, and this one’s almost nothing but gears!

As simple as it is, and as many nice clocks as I’ve made since, this is probably my favorite wooden clock.
