This is a wooden model of the Wm. Strutt “Epicyclic” clock. This features a 9” long 1-second compound pendulum, and, of course the planetary gearing. It’s absolutely mesmerizing to watch how the gears move!

This is also a very efficient mechanism - it runs 30 hours with a less-than-2LB weight at 50” fall.
