A 1922 drawing of the original Marmon-Herrington “Flying Wheels” logo (which later became the logo of the Indianapolis Speedway)….from where I got the wings. Time Flys
This was my first wooden-gear clock; my version of the famous “Thomas Clock”;…of course, with my own interpretation.I built this clock with a hand coping saw, some files and sandpaper. I didn’t even have a scrollsaw yet. I figured, “If they could do this a hundred years ago, so could I.”
Totally encouraged by my success, I couldn’t stop now. And, I wasn’t going to build “the same old thing” again, to someone else’s plans…
(and, yeah, I know it’s misspelled; but it was already cut out and glued, long before my school-teacher sister-in-law pointed this out.)
